I am sad that another year of Eurovision is over but also glad that I can now go home to sleep, knowing that Delta Goodrem placed in an incredible fourth spot.

I know we were all feeling the hope but Goodrem brought top-class professionalism, confidence and a 10/10 performance to the final. She is a true queen and star.

Goodrem received a pat on the back from the country’s Prime Minister, Anthony Albanese, shortly after the results landed.

“Well done, Delta Goodrem. You did Australia proud,” he wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of Goodrem in all her golden glory.

In the end, the winner’s trophy landed in the hands of Bulgaria’s Dara with her smash song Bangaranga — she got 516 points overall.

It’s a song that gets you dancing and it certainly got the whole arena in the mood.

And that’s where we will leave you. Thanks for joining Rudi and I on the ABC’s live blog and see you next time in Bulgaria! 👋👋

That’s it, Eurovision is done and dusted for another year, with next year’s competition taking us to the Balkans following Bulgaria’s victory.

The results this year were a nail-biter following the jury votes, with our Delta nipping at their heels in second place before the audience bumped us off the podium.
