Jeff Brazier returned to Instagram with a beaming selfie and an unmistakably hopeful mood after learning his youngest son Freddy is set to become a dad at 20. The presenter, 47, is preparing for his first turn as a grandfather while Freddy is expecting a baby with an ex-girlfriend — a child who would have been the late Jade Goody’s first grandchild.
Sources close to the family say the news initially blindsided Jeff, but he has rallied behind his son. One insider said it has “brought Freddy and his dad back together,” adding that Jeff “stepped up straight away and wanted to help in any way he could.”

On Instagram, Jeff paired his smiling photo with Cleo Sol’s “Life Will Be,” leaning into its affirming lines, including “Life will be just you believe in you” and “If you’re alive, there’s no excuse… you cannot lose this one time. It could be right.” The choice of track read like a quiet statement of intent: forward-looking and supportive.
It follows a turbulent spell for father and son. Earlier this year, Freddy’s relationship with his maternal grandmother Jackiey Budden reignited long-simmering tensions. Freddy alleged Jackiey had him “hooked on drugs” at 12, a claim she rejected as she argued he had fallen in with “a bad crowd” long before. In a candid preview for his Load Of Old Cobblers podcast, Freddy also revealed he had been “sectioned and to rehab” after a series of “manic episodes,” calling the period “tough.”

Viewers saw the friction between Jeff and Freddy during their stint on Race Across The World, where heated exchanges spilled out on camera. When Freddy complained they were “not open as a family,” Jeff snapped back: “What have I done for the last seven or eight years? You need to take responsibility, that is part of this.”

Through it all, Jeff’s role as a single dad has been the constant. He raised sons Bobby and Freddy after Jade’s death from cancer in 2009 — Bobby was five, Freddy four. Both boys have grown up in the public eye: Bobby modelled before landing EastEnders and went on to reach the Strictly Come Dancing final alongside Dianne Buswell, while Freddy has begun sharing his own story with rare frankness.
Now, as the Brazier men brace for a new chapter, Jeff’s sunny post — and its quietly defiant soundtrack — suggests he intends to meet it with positivity and presence.
