“I AM LOOKING FOR A TRADITIONAL WIFE”: Controversial MAFS groom Tyson Gordon has sparked fresh outrage after announcing he is still searching for a wife following his failed attempt to find love on the show… However, it is one specific requirement he has set for potential partners that is once again igniting anger and heated debate among viewers.

Tyson Gordon proved to be one of Married At First Sight’s most controversial grooms thanks to his ‘anti-woke’ views that were branded as ‘sexist’ by some viewers.

The property investor from the Gold Coast arrived on the 2026 season looking for a ‘submissive’ wife – but now has clarified that this is no longer the case.

The 30-year-old, who was unsuccessfully paired with Stephanie Marshall, 32, on the show, told 60 Minutes on Sunday that while he still wants a traditional bride, submission is not required.

‘So submissive was the wrong word to use. Traditional is the word I was looking for and traditional is a word I wanted to use,’ he said.

‘I’m not looking for a dog, I’m not looking to put my wife on a leash at all’.

Tyson still wants to be a ‘provider and protector’ and is looking for a ‘trad wife’ – but she will ‘have time for herself’.

‘I don’t expect to chain her up in the kitchen and say, “Make me a sandwich”,’ he said.

‘She’s not just going to be locked up in here all day. It’s nothing like that.

‘There’s really nothing wrong with wanting a traditional relationship in this day and age. I think if you can financially support it, then why not?’

The outspoken participant sparked outrage among viewers after repeatedly saying he wanted a ‘submissive’ woman and clashing with several cast members during his short-lived marriage .

His comments ignited fierce debate online, with many viewers accusing him of misogyny and calling for him to be removed from the show.

In a candid interview with Daily Mail, Tyson admitted he cringed watching his own behaviour back on television.

‘I feel like I took things a little bit too far with some of the things I said… I look like an idiot on the show,’ he said.

‘I just want a traditional woman with good values and someone who wants to raise a family.’

Despite the controversy, Tyson insists viewers have only seen a small snapshot of who he really is.

‘I know people think I’m this big bad wolf,’ he said.

‘But you’ve only seen this much of my life. I’m actually a nice person regardless of what people think.’

Despite the fallout from the show, Tyson says he still hopes to eventually find love.

‘I went on the show because I genuinely wanted to meet someone and start a family,’ he said.

‘It just didn’t work out the way I hoped.’
