Former Lioness Alex Scott became the first contestant voted off I’m A Celebrity on Friday night — an exit that surprised viewers and instantly sparked discussion, especially after Alex hinted at the intense pressure and behind-the-scenes dynamics she faced inside the camp.
The 41-year-old presenter unexpectedly found herself vulnerable after comedian Eddie Kadi, widely tipped to leave first, won the live trial and was therefore exempt from the public vote.
As her name was announced, Alex received a powerful round of applause from campmates. She took a breath, grabbed her bag, and walked out of the jungle for the final time.
Speaking with hosts Ant and Dec, she admitted:
“I’m free! It feels strange. It doesn’t feel real yet… but yes, I’m out.”
When asked whether she felt disappointed to be the first one voted off, Alex shook her head:
“Oh no! It’s been an incredible experience. It’s been mentally tough, but I’m so glad I did it with these amazing campmates. We laughed so much… the connections were real.”
The hosts then showed her the now-viral footage of her “contraband” moment — smuggling salt packets into camp to rescue the flavour of their rice.
Laughing, Alex confessed: “I don’t know how many I smuggled. I stuffed them in my sock! Jack sprinkled it into the rice — so yeah, the camp knew!”
However, when asked about the hardest part of camp life, Alex didn’t hold back and jokingly pointed toward a certain beloved celebrity.
“The toilet seat situation! The smell is awful… and someone keeps leaving the seat up. But we can’t say anything — he’s a national treasure.”
Before crossing the iconic bridge, Alex revealed her pick to win the series:
“Shona to win. Ginge and Aitch are brilliant and I’d love them in the final, but if Shona wins, it will give her so much confidence.”
Waiting to greet her at the end of the bridge was her close friend Regan Coleman, while her girlfriend Jess Glynne was away performing shows across the UK.
Online reaction was immediate and emotional.

Alex’s exit followed a recent punishment she received for sneaking in the salt, which cost the camp a star, and came after she had opened up emotionally about diversity and representation in the sports-media industry.
“I never want to be given a role just because they need ‘a type’,” she said firmly. “I want the job because I’m the best person for it. For years the pool was small because opportunities weren’t offered. Now that they are, I still want to earn my place — never as a tick-box.”
She also expressed how much joy she gets from seeing more women presenting sport on TV.
Shortly after her exit aired, Jess Glynne posted a heartfelt message to her 900k followers:
“My woman is a true trailblazer! So proud of everything you are. She is the flagship Lisa! Ahh I miss you so much ❤️”
Inside the camp, Alex had previously told Ruby Wax and Shona McGarty that she hoped Jess would propose:
“I’ll marry her — I’m just waiting for her to ask!”
Jess then responded on social media with a playful message:
“I better go get a ring.”
Alex also shared the story of how Jess boldly approached her at Chiltern Firehouse — a moment she described as an “instant spark” that led to them “falling madly in love.”
The pair began dating in 2023, and Alex’s jungle appearance marks the longest time they’ve spent apart.
Before entering the show, Alex admitted the experience would test both of them:
“We were private at first because we wanted to get to know each other before the world had an opinion.”
Now, after a whirlwind exit, emotional goodbyes, and a wave of public support, Alex Scott steps back into the real world — leaving behind a jungle journey she openly admits was tougher, more pressured, and more complicated than viewers may have realised.
