Davina McCall Returns After Revealing Breast Cancer Diagnosis – Standing Strong Beside Fiancé Michael Douglas at the British Hairdressing Awards

Davina McCall stepped back into the spotlight on Monday night — her first public appearance since announcing earlier this month that she has been diagnosed with breast cancer.

The 58-year-old presenter arrived at the British Hairdressing Awards to proudly support her fiancé Michael Douglas, 52, radiating festive glamour in a red sparkly top and velvet hotpants paired with heels and a sleek black crossbody bag.

Despite recently undergoing a lumpectomy, Davina appeared composed and upbeat as she posed side-by-side with celebrity stylist Michael, putting on a brave face amid what she described as an “angry but ultimately positive” chapter of her life.

Earlier this month, Davina revealed that she discovered a lump in her breast while filming The Masked Singer, explaining that she kept checking it thanks to reminders from Lorraine Kelly’s Change + Check posters at ITV. She said she eventually underwent a biopsy, which confirmed it was cancer.

Davina told fans she was “incredibly lucky” because the tumour was “very very small” and had been caught early. She shared that she will undergo five days of radiotherapy in January as an “insurance policy” to stay cancer-free.

She admitted the diagnosis initially left her furious, but added that she has since “let go of that anger” and now feels grounded and optimistic. Her message to fans was simple: “Know your boobs. Notice any changes. Don’t procrastinate.”

The appearance with Michael comes just months after the pair announced their engagement in Ibiza. Insiders say the couple are determined to marry in early 2026, opting for a small, intimate ceremony with the close friends who have supported Davina through her recent health struggles. Michael’s proposal, Davina said, was “a total surprise”, despite his running joke of pretending to tie an imaginary shoelace on her finger for two years.

Davina, who previously underwent brain surgery last year to remove a benign tumour, is now focused on healing, celebrating love, and not taking life for granted. With three grown-up children from her previous marriage — Holly, 23, Tilly, 21, and Chester, 19 — the TV favourite is ready for a fresh start and a quieter, more meaningful next chapter.
