What should have been a fairytale wedding between Olympic champion Adam Peaty and Holly Ramsay has spiralled into one of Britain’s most painful celebrity family rifts.
Relatives of the swimmer have revealed they feel “ashamed and unwanted,” claiming Adam has turned his back on his working-class roots since joining the glamorous Ramsay circle. “We can’t afford this wedding. We’re on benefits,” a family member admitted, describing how the lavish ceremony at Bath Abbey and Kin House has left them feeling excluded.

The once-tight Peaty clan say the turning point came when Adam’s mother, Caroline, was banned from Holly’s hen party and later from the wedding itself. “He’s said the most vile things a son can say to his mother,” said Caroline’s sister Louise Williams, adding that fame and fortune have changed him beyond recognition.
Caroline, 59, once the nursery manager who rose before dawn to drive her son to swimming practice, has been left heartbroken. She suffers from fibromyalgia, and relatives claim Adam dismissed her illness as “made up,” telling her to diet and exercise instead. “She devoted her life to helping him pursue his dream,” said one insider. “Now he’s ashamed of the very people who built him.”

Sources close to the family allege the Ramsays’ wealth and celebrity lifestyle have “seduced” the Olympian. “Adam doesn’t feel his family is good enough for the one he’s now part of,” said a relative. “He’s forgotten where he came from.”
The wedding, set in Bath’s grand Abbey followed by a reception at the £32,750-a-weekend Kin House estate, will reportedly include celebrity guests such as Sir David and Victoria Beckham. But most of Adam’s family won’t be there — not out of choice, but because they simply can’t afford the travel and hotel costs.

On social media, Caroline has shared tearful posts hinting at her pain: “When you love someone, you protect them from the pain, you don’t become the cause of it.” One comment under her post read, “The sacrifices you made for his success will never be forgotten.”
The rift has left the Peaty family shattered — a tragic contrast to the glitzy celebration that was meant to unite two households.
