‘The Honeymoon Is Over’ – Eamonn Holmes’ romance with younger lover Katie Alexander has reached its breaking point. An insider revealed that Eamonn is often irritable due to health struggles and financial woes

She was the woman who once lit up Eamonn Holmes’ world after the collapse of his 14-year marriage to Ruth Langsford. Striking, charismatic, and more than two decades his junior, marriage counsellor Katie Alexander seemed like the perfect partner to help the broadcaster move forward.

But just a year after their first public appearance as a couple, friends say the “honeymoon period” is officially over. One insider revealed, “Let’s just say the honeymoon looks very much at its end. He’s grumpier than ever, his health isn’t improving, and instead of moving closer to Katie, he spends more and more time in Belfast with his family—often without her.”

Despite Katie’s taste for the spotlight and their string of lavish holidays, the pair have been spotted looking frosty on recent outings. Last month at Old Trafford, Eamonn was glued to his phone while Katie, dressed to impress, looked far from happy. A few weeks earlier, they were seen in Belfast, and friends described the atmosphere as “decidedly cold.”

Logistics haven’t helped. Since leaving his Surrey marital home, Eamonn has been renting a flat in Kingston, while Katie remains in Yorkshire with her teenage children. He has so far resisted buying a new place for them to share.

On top of that, Eamonn’s ongoing health struggles and money woes—exacerbated by a tax battle with HMRC—have left him more irritable than ever. Even colleagues at GB News say he’s “a miserable goat even on a good day.”

To make matters worse, Eamonn is still locked in a bitter divorce battle with Ruth and is estranged from their son Jack, who has sided with his mother. “It hasn’t gone down well with the family,” one friend said of his relationship with Katie.

While Eamonn’s supporters believe the sale of his £3.6million Weybridge home may be a turning point—showing whether he’s ready to fully commit to Katie—others predict their romance could “fizzle out for good.”

Still, the couple continue to make public appearances together, with Katie standing by his side at London Fashion Week, where Eamonn was set to receive a lifetime achievement award. But as one pal put it: “A few people have long said he looks a bit of an old fool over this—now it seems he’s starting to feel it.”
