Michelle Dockery has shared joyous news with fans, revealing she is pregnant with her first child. The Downton Abbey star, 43, proudly displayed her growing baby bump on the red carpet at the world premiere of Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale in London’s Leicester Square on Wednesday evening.
The actress, who has played Lady Mary Crawley since the series debuted in 2010, arrived hand in hand with her husband, film producer Jasper Waller-Bridge, 37. Dockery radiated elegance in a pale blue off-the-shoulder gown with a fitted bodice and flowing train, tenderly cradling her bump as she posed for photographers.

It was a night of celebration for both the actress and her co-stars, as the cast reunited to mark the final chapter of the global phenomenon. Set in 1930, the upcoming film closes a remarkable 15-year journey for the Crawley family saga, spanning six TV series and three feature films.

Michelle and Jasper, who tied the knot in 2023 at a romantic ceremony attended by her Downton castmates, couldn’t hide their happiness. Expectant dad Jasper beamed as he stood alongside his wife, holding her hand on the red carpet.

This new chapter in Dockery’s life comes after years of personal heartbreak. In 2015, she lost her fiancé John Dineen to a rare form of cancer at just 34. Speaking in 2017, she admitted she still considered herself a widow. Finding love again with Jasper in 2019, the couple later confirmed their engagement in The Times newspaper in 2022.

Dockery, who grew up in Romford, Essex, has kept her personal life away from the spotlight, with her pregnancy news kept secret until her dazzling appearance this week. Surrounded by fellow cast members including Joanne Froggatt, Laura Carmichael, Hugh Bonneville and Joely Richardson, Michelle looked every inch the leading lady as she stepped into motherhood’s spotlight for the very first time.
