Two young children have died from their injuries nine days after the car they were travelling in hit a tree on a suburban Perth road.
The girls, aged three and four, had been in a Ford Territory with two adults heading along Muriel Street in the north-eastern suburb of Viveash about 2.25pm on April 17.
Police say the car left the road and smashed into a tree.
Vision from the scene showed a bend in the road and tire marks over a curb and across a stretch of dirt leading to a tree that is still standing but has been clearly impacted at its base.

The girls were rushed to Perth Children’s Hospital in Nedlands for treatment of life-threatening injuries.
“Sadly, late on Sunday evening, 26 April 2026, both children passed away from their injuries,” WA Police said in a statement.
The 24-year-old man driving the car and a 24-year-old female passenger were taken to Royal Perth Hospital for treatment for serious injuries.
Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating and want anyone with relevant information to contact police.
They are in particular looking for dash-cam or mobile phone vision.

There have been 58 official fatalities recorded so far this year, according to the Road Safety Commission.
That includes 31 people in motor vehicles, 18 motorcyclists, eight pedestrians and one cyclist.
But those figures on the commission’s website are only dated until April 20.
It does not include the deaths of the two children.

There was also a fatal crash in Gosnells on Sunday, when an 80-year-old woman died after being hit by a car while walking across George Street.
A 36-year-old woman died on Sunday when the car she was driving left the road and hit a tree in Spencers Brook, in the Avon Valley, 95 kilometres east of Perth.
Premier Roger Cook was today asked about Sunday’s fatal crashes, and said his government was doing everything to make Western Australia’s roads safer, including $1 billion funding for road improvements.
“We also need people to do the right thing,” he said.
“We need them to make sure they observe the rules of the road.”
